Sudan has rejected anew the unilateral filling of the Renaissance Dam for the second year in a row without an agreement, which is a clear violation of international law and the agreement of principles, agreements and stable practice regulating the exchange of benefits for common rivers.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press statement issued, Monday, that the Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources had received a letter from its Ethiopian counterpart informing it of the start of the second filling of the dam during the current rainy season.
“Sudan considered this notification as” Useless” unless the filling and operation of the dam is negotiated and agreed upon” the statement stressed.
